The Perils and Possibilities
There are an estimated 2,000,000 Jewish-Christian married couples in the United States. This does not include the countless unmarried couples in a Jewish-Christian relationship. Prior to 1970, just 17 percent of American Jews were married to a non-Jewish person. However, Pew Research Center found that since 2010, 61 percent of Jews who married in the U.S. wed a non-Jewish person.
The growth and acceptance of Jewish/Christian relationships can be seen by the success of the Netflix program, Nobody Wants This! This hit series about a Jewish rabbi dating a Christian woman attracted 10,000,000 viewers on Netflix.
Jewish/Christian couples face a variety of challenges not faced by same-faith couples such as:
- “What faith are we going to raise our children? Jewish or Christian?”
- “Where are we going to worship… at a church or a synagogue?
- “Will we celebrate Passover or Easter? Christmas or Hanukkah?”

The Saturday Bible Study will study the scriptures presented for the following Sunday in the Revised Common Lectionary, a collection of passages from the Old Testament, Psalms, the epistles, and Gospels focused on common themes. Through discussion, we will examine these themes and how they point to the Bible’s revelation of God’s redemptive plan for mankind as revealed in Yeshua/Jesus, our Savior. We invite active participation in the study proper, as well as participants' general questions regarding the Bible and its teachings.
This study is meant for couples and individuals in a mixed Jewish/Christian relationship.
