Join us for the newest Shoresh Study Tours itinerary, October 22-30, 2026!

There is a specific kind of wonder the comes over you when the Bible moves from the black-and-white text of a page into the vibrant, three-dimensional reality of the land where it happened.

Following joyful impact of our 2025 Jewish Paul in Greece tour, CMJ USA is thrilled to announce that we are headed back! On October 22, 2026, we will once again depart for an 9-day journey that will take us through the rugged mountains of Greece to follow the footsteps of the Apostle Paul—or as we like to remember him, Rav Shaul.

Looking Back: The Lessons of 2025

Our 2025 tour was more than just a sightseeing trip; it was a deep dive into the Jewish world of the first century. We didn't just see ruins; we explored the "Jewishness" of the New Testament and how the gospel message impacted pagan Greece.

Last year, one of the most profound moments for our group was standing in the synagogue in the old Jewish quarter of Veria. Seeing the "Step of Paul" in Berea reminded us that when Paul arrived in a new city, his first stop was almost always the synagogue. He wasn’t starting a new religion; he was sharing the fulfillment of Israel’s hope with his own people and the "God-fearing" Greeks among them.

We also sat by the Zygaktis River in Philippi, where Lydia—the first Christian believer in Europe—was baptized. Reading the book of Acts in the very place where those hearts were first opened is an experience that stays with you long after you fly home.

What’s Ahead: the 2026 Vision

For our 2026 tour (October 22–30), we’ve curated an itinerary that continues this legacy of "study-travel." Led by The Rev. Cariño Casas, this tour is a collaboration between CMJ USA and Shoresh Study Tours, ensuring a unique focus on the Jewish context of the gospel.

The 2026 highlights include:

  • Thessaloniki & Philippi: We’ll explore the ruins of the Roman-era crypt where Paul may have been imprisoned and stand in the theaters where the early church first took root.

  • The Heights of Meteora: We will visit the breathtaking "monasteries in the air," perched atop sandstone pillars -- some of the most stunning scenery in the world -- offering a moment of spiritual reflection on how once pagan Greece remains mostly Christian after nearly 2,000 years.

  • Delphi: We’ll visit the religious center of the ancient Greek world, gaining a new appreciation for the spiritual opposition Paul faced when preaching the Gospel in a culture dominated by the Greek pantheon.

  • Athens & Ancient Corinth: We will stand on Mars Hill (the Areopagus) where Paul addressed the Athenian philosophers, and visit the Bema in Corinth, the site of Paul’s trial.

Why Join Us?

As we saw in 2025, traveling with a "Jewish-root perspective" changes the way you read your Bible forever. You begin to see the New Testament not as a detached Greek document, but as a Jewish story that spilled over into the Greek world.

Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of Scripture, walk where the Apostles walked, or simply experience the rich culture and hospitality of Greece, this tour is designed for you.

The Details:

  • Dates: October 22 – October 30, 2026
  • Route: Thessaloniki → Philippi → Veria → Meteora → Delphi → Athens → Corinth
  • Host: The Rev. Cariño Casas

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”—but sometimes, seeing where the walk began makes the faith that much stronger.
